Going to a festival Sober? Here are my top tips!

  • Wear an outfit you feel fabulous in - Clothes can lift your mood and send a message to those around you. I wear sequins, sparkles and bright coloured clothing to show people I am sober...but I am here to party.

  • Have a shot of Livener by Three Spirits before going - this drink has caffeine and gives me a cheeky boost.

  • I AM Affirmations - If you have doubts in your mind and can feel the self-critic rearing its ugly head, feed your inner cheerleader with positive statements I AM CONFIDENT, I AM A GREAT DANCER, I AM FUNNY, I AM BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT... You get the gist!

  • Dance around the living room or the tent before going into some of your favourite feel-good festival tunes- get those endorphins pumping.

  • Pack an extra layer - I like having a jacket and some leggings that I add once the sun goes down. You will not have a beer jacket anymore, so you might feel the cold.

  • Find out what alcohol-free options there will be available - call ahead. If you can bring stuff with you, bring your favourite alternatives. if we don't let festivals know what we want we will never see a change in what they offer festival goers. The more prepared you are, the less likely you will be to have a drink with alcohol in when it comes to placing your order at the bar.

  • Upgrade to VIP - nicer toilets and somewhere to sit down. I don't spend money on alcohol anymore so I can afford to treat myself.

  • Comfortable shoes - that you can dance all day and night in without a blister are a must. Especially if you are at a festival that lasts for a few days.

  • Carry an empty water bottle - because most festivals have free water refill stations, and when the bar queue is massive you can keep hydrated.

  • Fuel yourself- get a good meal inside of you to give you energy for dancing.

  • Be proud of your sobriety - wear it as a badge of honour. Tons of sober celebs have ditched the booze, and they look fabulous and are doing great things, remember that it is an aspirational thing you are doing!

  • If the festival is for a couple of days, you can wake up the morning after the night before and return to the festival ready to do it all over again…hangover free!

  • You are making memories that you will not forget - Smile, let go of the fear of being judged and just have fun :)

If you are going to the Weekender Festival in Jersey this weekend, here’s what they have on offer >>

  • Cans of Heineken 0%

  • Gin & Vodka 0% with mixers (possible others spirits)

  • White wine 0%

And the positions they will be serving them from >>

  • Dance Arena - Positions 1 & 2

  • Tree Bar - Positions 19 & 20

  • Main Bar - Positions 31 & 32

  • VIP Bar - Positions 76 & 77
